I’ve helped bring hundreds of songs to life with artists that want to help the world with their music. I think that great music has a way of speaking to people in a way nothing else can. The world can be a bit dark and scary at times, and in my opinion it’s the job of artists to be honest about the darkness but show the world a glimmer of light and hope. I love crafting songs that resonate deeply and powerfully, where every word, melody, and instrument is placed intentionally to create a perfect whole.

Hi. I’m John True.

I’m a classically trained piano kid who fell in love with making records with amazing artists, just like you. I’m also an artist myself, writing songs with my band HUE(s) and instrumental compositions under my own name. I work with brands to compose custom theme songs, scores for film and television, and write to briefs for sync agencies around the world.

There’s a magic that happens when the right people get into the studio together and collaborate intentionally to create incredible music. I help artists unlock their deepest levels of creativity and authenticity to create music that matters. I like to say that my job is to grab emotions out of thin air and make them come out of speakers.
